Responsibilities

 

  • Communicating and building positive relationships with assigned offices by mail, email, and telephone to facilitate timely payment of premiums
  • Collaborating with offices to ensure proper x-rays and documentation are received
  • Examining and analyzing patient ledgers to determine proper billing
  • Perform the appropriate adjustments and corrected procedures to ensure accurate billing
  • Corresponding effectively with various insurance companies to verify and resolve any discrepancies
  • Directly address all insurance claim submission denials received (within 3 business days or less)
  • File secondary claims as needed with supporting documentation
  • Submitting dental claims to insurance companies online, by mail, and by fax
  • Ensure personal achievement of productivity standards and performance metrics as directed by supervisor
  • Performing other duties as required to support the Billing department

Qualifications

 

  • Understanding of dental insurance and claims processing
  • Self-motivated, punctual, and reliable
  • A welcoming smile and positive attitude
  • Be capable of detail-oriented data entry
  • Ability to read dental x-rays
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Good communication skills and a team player
  • Ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of dentistry experience with knowledge of electronic billing (Eaglesoft preferred)
  • Previous clinical experience in dental is a plus
